Privacy Policy

Overview

Kinna is a parenting companion app designed with privacy as a core principle. Baby profiles, health logs, notes, milestone progress, and most app activity are stored on your device. We do not operate servers that collect or host this content.

Subscription purchases and premium entitlement checks are additionally handled by Apple and RevenueCat. Those services process transaction-related data required to determine your subscription status.

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is created and stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:

• Baby profile (name, date of birth, gender)
• Parent role selection (mother, father, caregiver)
• Daily logs (feeding, sleep, diaper, notes)
• Growth records (weight, height)
• Vaccination records and schedules
• Food introduction and allergy logs
• Milestone progress tracking
• App preferences and settings

This data never leaves your device. We cannot access, view, or recover it.

Children's Privacy

Kinna takes children's privacy very seriously. The app is intended for parents and caregivers, not for direct use by children. Child-related information entered into the app may include sensitive health-related notes such as feeding, sleep, vaccines, growth, and food reactions.

This information remains under the control of the parent or caregiver on their device. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information to a Kinna-operated server.

Third-Party Services

Kinna uses the following service providers:

• RevenueCat — manages subscription purchase, restore, and entitlement verification. Apple and RevenueCat process subscription transaction data, product identifiers, entitlement status, and an app user identifier required to determine your premium status. Based on the current app code, RevenueCat does not receive your child's profile, health logs, food history, milestone progress, or notes. For details, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• PostHog — collects anonymous usage statistics such as which screens are viewed and which features are used. PostHog is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). No personal information, baby data, health records, or device identifiers are included in these analytics events. For details, see PostHog's Privacy Policy.

Apple also processes subscription transactions through the App Store under Apple's own terms and privacy practices.

Analytics

Kinna collects anonymous usage statistics through PostHog (EU-hosted) to understand which features are most useful and improve the app experience. These analytics events contain:

• Screen names viewed (e.g., "home", "tracking", "vaccines")
• Feature usage counts (e.g., "feeding timer used", "diaper logged")
• Onboarding and paywall interaction events

These analytics events do not contain:

• Your baby's name, date of birth, or any personal information
• Health records, feeding times, sleep data, or growth measurements
• Your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers
• Any data that could identify you or your child personally

We do not use advertising SDKs or tracking frameworks. Apple may still provide its own App Store or device-level analytics if you enable those settings on your Apple account or device.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored on your device:

• Your data persists as long as the app is installed on your device.
• Kinna does not currently provide a single in-app erase-all screen for every record type.
• Deleting the app removes locally stored Kinna data from your device.
• We cannot recover deleted data as we never had access to it.

Subscription transaction records are additionally handled by Apple and RevenueCat under their own systems and policies.

Your Rights

Under applicable data protection regulations, including KVKK in Turkey and GDPR in the EU where applicable:

• You remain in direct control of most Kinna data because it resides on your device.
• You can review and update app content where editing is available in the app.
• You can remove all locally stored Kinna data by deleting the app from your device.
• For subscription transaction records processed by Apple or RevenueCat, your rights and requests are also subject to those providers' policies and support channels.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
